‘Safer India for women’ – a website to save

‘Dear friends,
A few days back I had blogged on Kalpana Sharma’s article in ‘The Hindu’ on Mumbai incident, the various opinions and the appeal for safety of women. Now Akhila R whom I have neither seen nor known, in her mail to my niece, has informed about a website maintained by none other than the fearless female, Magsaysay award winner, reformer of Tihar prison Ms Kiran Bedi, Safer India. As per the mailer any one aggrieved on not getting their complaint received or registered by any police station can go the website, follow the instructions, detailing the case. It will be immediately sent to the D.G of police of the respective state.
The site also gives legal help to pursue the case. Now this is sweeter than sugar. At last a bright sun is rearing its form above the horizon, amidst a cloud of superstition, convention, conservatism, apathy and indifference.
Well, I hope our ‘Thaaikkulam’ will take this wonderful opportunity to redress their grievances.
All the best
